Dr. Johnson grew up in La Center, WA, just north of Vancouver in Clark County, and has always considered himself a native of the Pacific Northwest. He has been married to his wife, Kristin, for 17 years, and they have five children.
As an undergraduate he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and minors in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Spanish. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Johnson attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA and was awarded both the Presidential Scholarship and the US Army Health Professions Scholarship. During optometry school he had the opportunity to work in community health centers, VA clinics, Pediatric ophthalmology clinics, and numerous other practice settings. He was able spend 3 months living and practicing abroad in Madrid, Spain, and is fluent in Spanish. He also studied and conducted research in Physiological Optics, the development of the eye, and Ocular Imaging technology. He graduated with both a Masters in Vision Science (2010) and a Doctor of Optometry (2011).
Dr. Johnson served as an optometrist in the US Army from 2011 to 2017. His first assignment was a residency in Primary Care Optometry and Medical Contact Lenses at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, where he gained extensive experience in the treatment of ocular diseases and the fitting of Specialty Contact Lenses. Following his residency, he served as a staff optometrist at Ft. Stewart near Savannah, GA, then as a clinic director at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. His final assignment prior to separation from the US Army in 2017 was as commander of an optometric medical team at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX. Dr. Johnson joined Tillamook Vision Center in 2017.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Johnson enjoys playing with his kids, woodworking, home renovating/remodeling, playing piano/organ, and camping/hiking.
Dr. Jenck was born and raised in Tillamook on a local dairy farm. After graduating from Tillamook High School, he attended Oregon State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in BioHealth Sciences with a minor in Chemistry and Business. Then Dr. Jenck attended Pacific University College of Optometry and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry. During optometry school Dr. Jenck got a wide variety of exposures to different areas of practice. He worked in a large private primary care practice, an internal rotation at Pacific with emphasis on contact lenses and ocular disease, then had a rotation with a small private practice with vision therapy, and finished with a rotation in Lexington, Kentucky at the VA hospital with lots of exposure to a large range of ocular diseases.
After graduating, Dr. Jenck returned to Tillamook and worked at Tillamook Vision Center under Dr. Johnson while completing his boards exams and licensure. Dr. Jenck is now seeing patients full time at our Tillamook and Pacific City offices. He has a wide array of experience treating vision conditions, working with contact lenses, treating ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eye. Also, he sees many patients for urgent conditions such as corneal abrasion, foreign bodies, and evaluation and management of vision-threatening conditions.
Dr. Jenck likes to spend his free time at home playing games with his friends, woodworking, attempting new recipes/cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys going to the beach and exploring the outdoors camping and hiking.

Dr. Steele is a PNW native and was raised along the Columbia River in Southern Washington. For her undergraduate schooling, Dr. Steele Attended Washington State University, where she graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelors of science in Biology. She then went on to earn her doctorate in Optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. Dr. Steele joined Tillamook Vision Center in 2022.
When she is not working with patients, Dr. Steele enjoys cooking, foraging for plants and mushrooms, ice skating, and cuddling with her cat, Marley.
